Ashleigh Bennett
Instructor, guitar, vocals, piano, ukulele
Ashleigh is a recent transplant from NW Pennsylvania! She has been teaching private lessons since 2016; her areas of expertise include piano, guitar, and ukulele. She grew up singing in church, taking piano lessons, and being the nerdiest choir kid she could be. College granted her the opportunity to tour with a traveling worship team, where she played acoustic guitar and sang for audiences all over the Northeast US. Shortly after college, she began exploring as many musical pursuits as she could get her hands on.
Her teaching career launch also conicided with the beginning of her becoming a gigging musician- she began performing solo acoustic sets, which eventually led to the formation of a band (The Band Hannah), some acoustic duos, and her crowning achivement- a series of themed Emo Nights, where she was able to perform the pop-punk/emo/alt rock songs she grew up on.
Her musical influences include a wide variety of genres, spanning from singer songwriter greats like Joni Mitchell to indie pop bands like The Band Camino, with the occasional foray into progressive bluegrass artists like Sarah Jarosz or heavier rock outfits like Hands Like Houses. She loves getting to know her students and understand their individual personalities and goals.
When she's not teaching or gigging, you'll probably find her at home with her cats watching a sappy movie, but occasionally you'll catch her adventuring out to explore all of the cool things the southwest has to offer.
